Review Summaries
One of the objectives of the CNCF is to disseminate summaries of nursing-care-relevant Cochrane Reviews. We are currently in discussions with a wide range of international journals that are interested in producing a regular ‘Cochrane Corner’ column. The purpose of these columns is to increase the awareness of Cochrane Reviews amongst nurses and others involved in nursing are and to encourage readers to both access the full review via the Cochrane Library and to facilitate the transfer of the findings into practice.
The target audience is, of course, nurses and others involved in decision making at the point of care as well as teachers and leaders – thus, the CNCF will focus strongly on presenting information in ways that are accessible to this group and will therefore involve members of the CNCF with experience and expertise in the specific specialty area. We are calling on our members to participate in this exciting initiative.
CNCF members are required to:
- If not preselected by the journal of interest - search the Cochrane Library for recent reviews relevant to nursing care (and the specific journal of interest);
- Write up a short summary of the review using a standardised template; and
- Submit it to the CNCF and if required undertake any edits
